A truly one-of-a-kind photo just won Bird Photographer of the Year, and it’s the kind of shot many of us only dream of capturing.

 

Canadian photographer Liron Gertsman snapped an awe-inspiring image of a frigatebird flying directly across a total solar eclipse. The result? A perfectly timed silhouette of bird and celestial alignment that landed him the top prize out of 25,000 global entries – not to mention £3,000 in cash.
