Float Above, Explore Below

What was your primary goal with this photograph?
My goal was to capture the quiet harmony between human presence and nature. I wanted to freeze a moment where people weren’t dominating the scene, but rather dissolving into it—floating, exploring, and simply being. The clarity of the water, the scattered swimmers, and the lone boat all speak to a kind of peaceful coexistence that’s rare and worth remembering.

Can you walk us through your thought process when you were making this image?
I was drawn to the contrast between the vastness of the sea and the smallness of the people within it. As I framed the shot, I paid attention to balance—placing the boat off-center to let the water breathe, and letting the swimmers naturally fall into place. I wanted the viewer’s eye to wander, to feel like they’re drifting through the scene themselves. The darker patches beneath the surface added depth and mystery, hinting at the world below without revealing it entirely.

If you had to describe this photograph in three words, what would they be?
