What was your primary goal with this photograph?
I wanted to give a mysterious air, both thoughtful and perhaps threatening, by taking a close-up of this vulture with half-closed eyes from the front.
Can you walk us through your thought process when you were making this image?
I chose to darken the background in the treatment to reinforce the demonic aspect.
If you had to describe this photograph in three words, what would they be? Angel of darkness.
