I wanted to illustrate Aragon’s poem “Berlin Bierstube”
Can you walk us through your thought process when you were making this image?
An improvised studio in a living room with a few simple accessories (red curtain, empty bottles) and warm/cool lighting to create the atmosphere of a brothel.
If you had to describe this photograph in three words, what would they be? Est-ce ainsi que les hommes vivent ? (Is this how men live?)
