On 11 July 2025, at 122nd Fighter Wing, U.S. Special/Operations Paracommandos and USAF Thunderbirds performed a dress rehearsal. The Thunderbirds, with their four F-16s practiced alone at about 11 am. The took off in their famous diamond formation. At 3 pm, all six Thunderbirds took off in their diamond formation and two solo pilots soaring off into the Hoosier’s sky separately. After the rehearsal, the 122nd Fighter Wing hosted a block party at the Landing, downtown Fort Wayne. USAF Thunderbirds Pilots and enlisted personnel signed autographs to the citizens of Fort Wayne of all ages.
Day one, Of Fort Wayne Airshow 2025, at 122nd Fighter Wing, Air National Guard Base, at Fort Wayne, Indiana began with U.S. Special Operations Command Paracommandos para chute ceremony during our national anthem. The POW/MIA Flag floated down with one of the paratroopers and “Old Glory,” red white, and blue floated down from partly clear skies.
Following the Paracommandos touchdown. There were many civilian pilots performed preliminarily airshow acrobatic and artistic stunts into Fort Wayne’s partly clear skies. One of the airshow performers performed a closing around airshow. The crowd got a big kick out of airshow announcer pretending to tease and back seat drive one of the comedy airshow flyers. Here is the moment we all have been waiting for, The USAF Thunderbirds!
The USAF Thunderbirds began their performance with an enlistment ceremony. Thunderbirds Flight surgeon performed a the enlistment ceremony. The Enlisted grounds people and Thunderbird pilots ceremoniously marched to their Aircraft. The diamond formation soared oof first. The solos five and six took off into the partly clear skies. A solo F-16 showed orange fire in the rear exhaust . Also a solo F-16 went through four, F-16s. These two scenarios I have not seen before with the Thunderbirds. The had a landing ceremony. immediately after Thunderbirds performance, USAF Thunderbirds pilots and enlisted ground personnel signed autographs from and enthusiastic Hoosier crowd.
