Hello!

I have retired from being primarily a headshot photographer and I spend my retirement volunteering as a photographer for zoos. The Oakland Zoo in California was my first volunteer gig, but having moved to Arizona I only get back there a few times per year. But I always ask them what they need in the way of photos so that I can still be useful.

I now volunteer for a small local zoo in Prescott Arizona. They saw me photographing a jaguar and said that they didn’t have any good photos of him. So I printed out a few copies of two of my best and provided them to the zookeepers and management. After that, I was asked if I could volunteer for them. I said yes and occasionally get special photographic privileges.

My photos have been used for post cards, signage, social media, emails, billboards, magazine covers, and even the national AZA calendar a couple of times.

I thought I would check out this group to see what an Ai would think of one of my better photos, just for laughs, but if I can be of any assistance to other photographers, I will stick around.
